Every plan opens with its place in the sequence: the prior objective, this one, the next. A lesson is part of a coherent unit, not a one-off.

Because every lesson follows the same shape, a whole staff builds from one consistent structure - which is also what a school's SEQUENS coaching works from. The lesson engine sits inside the school arm, not beside it.

Adaptive teaching, not tiered worksheets.

Their turn is one shared task entered at the right level. The builder generates responsive scaffold and stretch around it: vocabulary pre-taught, sentence stems, a picture key for the children who need a way in; depth, not more of the same, for the children who are ready.

Going further moves a child toward age-related expectation without overloading working memory. Scaffolds print ink-light, for books. And because generation is live, a scaffold can be shaped to the actual child: an interest that motivates them, a symbol per step for early English, one instruction at a time for a child who needs it.

Where a scheme such as White Rose is named, SEQUENS aligns to the order of its blocks and steps and generates original teaching. It never reproduces materials or wording, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by White Rose.

Awarding-body and examination specifications are upload-only. The builder will not generate them from memory.

Marking that proves itself.

The class defaults to secure; the teacher taps the exceptions. Every markable level shows what it means for this objective, in context, with an honest caveat when the National Curriculum is vague.

Your school sets the marking policy; SEQUENS provides the proof that feedback happened and what came next.

What the research is clear about.

The builder is engineered on this research. Each finding below is built into the engine.

Who built this. SEQUENS is built by one person: a qualified teacher and senior leader who started out designing learning resources for children with SEND in mainstream schools, ran an alternative provision for young people out of education, taught primary through to leading teaching and learning internationally, and returned to the UK as an instructional coaching lead. It is built alongside a teaching timetable, which is why it is designed around the week a teacher actually has rather than the one a planning template assumes.

SEQUENS suggests. A human confirms. Every lesson arrives as a first draft with its reasoning attached. You change it, you reject it, or you teach it. Nothing reaches a class until you have said so, and every generated artefact is marked as AI-assisted.

Memory is strengthened by retrieval, not re-reading.

Recalling knowledge changes it: retrieval practice produces more durable learning than reviewing the same material again, and spacing those retrievals multiplies the effect.

SEQUENS builds in retrieval: every lesson opens with First thing, retrieval from last time, and closes with Last thing. Coverage feeds revisit, so what was secured comes back before it fades.

Checking understanding beats assuming it.

Formative checks change teaching in the moment. A well-built hinge question exposes the specific misconception a class is most likely to hold, while there is still time to act on it.

SEQUENS checks understanding: the Quick check is a hinge targeting a named misconception, generated with the lesson. Coverage is never mistaken for learning.

Working memory is small; overload it and nothing sticks. Adaptive scaffolds give every child a way into the same learning, and stretch adds depth toward age-related expectation rather than a separate, capped track.

We think in words and pictures, so teaching uses both.

Pairing a clear explanation with a simple, matched visual lets more be held and more be kept than either channel alone.

Inclusion is a foundation, not a feature.

Reaching every learner, including children with SEND and children learning English, is the condition on the whole design, not an option beside it.

SEQUENS is inclusive by design: scaffolds carry symbol support and chunked instructions where a child needs them, dual coding runs through every deck, and personalisation shapes the same learning to the actual child.

Teaching that responds in the moment beats deciding in advance.

Adapting to what a child actually does, during the lesson, achieves more than allocating tasks by group beforehand. A group decided in advance becomes a ceiling; a teacher reading the room does not.

SEQUENS is adaptive and responsive by design: every step long enough for a teacher to be circulating carries its in-the-moment moves, what you might see and what to do about it, alongside what to do if a child is stuck and if a child is already finished. Support and challenge live inside the lesson, never in a separate plan.

One thing at a time is a principle, not a limitation.

Working memory holds very little at once, and a novice holds least of all. Two new ideas presented together are not twice as much learning, they are usually neither.

The six-part spine exists to hold one idea at a time: retrieve, model, build together, check, do it alone, close the loop. Vocabulary is capped at three to five words for the same reason, and each one arrives in a sentence rather than on a list.

Safe by design.

Generation needs no pupil personal data. The teacher holds the account, plans are built from objectives, and nothing about a child has to leave the school to make a lesson.

Every generated artefact carries the review marker, because the teacher is the author and the final check. Video is off by default and embeds only after an adult previews and confirms, in privacy mode. There is no pupil-facing AI.

Because a lesson is designed to be taught from the board and printed for books, the classroom never depends on live connectivity mid-lesson.

And because the teacher reviews every lesson before it is taught, content stays appropriate to your school's setting and cultural context - the teacher is the final check on what fits the class in front of them.
